In The Batters Box offers a well rounded fun, athletic conditioning program designed for all age groups and athletic ability. We run daily classes designed to help enhance each athlete’s success on and off the field.
In The Batters Box offers three core programs designed for students of all ages and levels of ability:
Discover (Ages 6-8)
While having fun, young athletes are introduced to many important athletic exploratory exercises and games. The love of movement and exercise is cultivated at this level that will ultimately lead to a lifetime of fitness and wellness. The focus is to provide a rich environment of movement that stimulates their sense of physical discovery leading to greater self-awareness and self-confidence. Games such as variations of tag and kickball are popular among this age group and serve well in accomplishing these goals.
Transform (Ages 9-13)
Budding athletes at this level are physically maturing and benefit greatly from more physical demand and introduction to safe strengthening program. Concepts such as core and joint stability, coordination, hand/eye coordination, strength, power, stamina are introduced and developed. Kids will be challenged with speed work, agility drills, and functional movements that will benefit all their athletic endeavors regardless of their chosen sport at the time. Another benefit of youth strength conditioning training at this level may be its ability to improve the preparedness of aspiring young athletes for the demands of sports participation; an estimated 15% to 50% of all injuries sustained by youth while playing sports could be prevented if more emphasis was placed on developing fundamental fitness abilities prior to sports participation.
Specialize (Ages 14+)
At this level of training, athletes will continue to refine their athletic skill and performance. At this stage, training builds upon the foundation of speed, quickness, agility, flexibility, body strength and coordination; incorporates aspects such as core training, plyometric and reactive training, strength and power utilizing sport specific weight lifting techniques, medicinal balls, etc. The intent is to maximize your potential – preparing you for the rigors of the season, enhance sports performance, while increasing your resistance to injury.
